Opportunities for clubs to undertake online sessions to help their development

The British American Football Association (BAFA) is offering its members free workshops on key topics such as Introduction to Legal Structures and Developing a Marketing Strategy in partnership with Club Matters.

Club Matters is Sport England’s one stop shop for sports clubs, groups and organisations involved in the delivery of physical activity and sport.

Warren Smart, BAFA National Game Development Manager, has been confirmed as a tutor for these workshops after undertaking appropriate training.

Initially, the following workshops will be available to BAFA members:

- Volunteer Experience
- Participant Experience
- Developing a Marketing Strategy
- Leadership Teams
- Introduction to Legal Structures

The free workshops can be arranged for a single club, or for a smaller number of representatives from a variety of clubs.

Members can register their interest by emailing Warren at

Warren Smart, BAFA National Game Development Manager, said:

“We’re excited to bring these free workshops to clubs all over the country. We want to share valuable knowledge, best practice and generate ideas to help clubs grow on and off the field.

“These workshops provide an excellent opportunity for clubs to invest in their own success and can be arranged for an individual club with several members or a number of clubs joining to share knowledge and help plan ahead. Additionally, I will announce dates for workshops which anyone can enrol onto.

“Given current conditions, what’s particularly appealing about these workshops is that they are online and can be delivered without travel. However, when the possibility presents itself, I also want to visit clubs and present these sessions, and other work I am undertaking, to help us further develop our game."

Kath Robinson, member of the Club Matters Team, said:

“We are delighted to be able to work with Warren to offer the suite of Club Matters workshops to the BAFA community. We hope the workshops will develop individual skills and knowledge, which in turn, will benefit BAFA clubs.”
