BAFA can today confirm the league alignments for the 2021 Adult Contact season.

Due to the pandemic, we have been forced to change our usual three tier divisional structure and suspend the national competition in favour of regionally based groups playing eight games.

The groups were arrived at after a series of Town Hall meetings where the clubs decided to replace the usual league alignments with this regional structure.

Warren Smart, BAFA National Game Development Manager, said:

“I am grateful to the input and constructive conversations we’ve had with our clubs about the alignments for this season. We all know that we are having to adapt and compromise, but I am excited about the regional structure and 2021 will be marked by a number of really interesting match ups.

To help grow the sport we have allocated all new teams to the group structure to help them achieve full competitive membership for 2022.

“I have been working with clubs to ensure some level of parity is maintained and we really want the year to be approached as an opportunity to develop, with clubs all across the country helping one another.

Final schedules for the season are currently being finalised and will be announced in due course.
