Stirling Clansmen crowned BUCS national champions

27 March 2017

Leeds Beckett Carnegie also prevail in Division One final

The Stirling Clansmen won their fourth National Championship in a 10-7 nail biter against the Durham Saints. The game at Sixways Stadium came down to the very last play, with Durham unable to convert a field goal to send the game to overtime.

Game MVP Andres Donat scored Stirling's winning touchdown late in the fourth quarter in a game which saw both teams take drives up and down the field but fail to convert them into points.

Earlier in the day Leeds Beckett Carnegie defeated the Portsmouth Destroyers 28-7 in the Division One final, with Leeds Beckett quarterback Chris Winrow named MVP after scoring all four of his team's touchdowns.

BAFA would like to thank all the volunteers and officials who helped to make the day a success, as well as the staff at Sixways Stadium.
